Inside, through clever design and careful use of space and lighting the cottages provide a visually welcoming and relaxing atmosphere enjoying views of the open countryside, whilst catering for the elderly and young alike with special attention being paid to access for the less able.

The cottages are extremely well equipped and maintained to our very high standards. Each cottage has:-

*  Communal laundry room (coin operated)

Enjoy our 3 acres of garden including a large lawn where games can be played, Natural fishing pond with Carp and Roach and a small wooded area or just sit and enjoy the tranquility.

Go cycling, mountain bike riding or walking. If you are a little more adventurous try a flying lesson from Sleap Airfield, and see beautiful Shropshire by air.

We are only 15 minutes by car from the historic town of Shrewsbury encircled by the River Severn, with its Abbey, St Chad's Church, and the birth place of Charles Darwin. Wander around the many designer shops (a shopaholic's paradise) in one of the finest Medieval/Tudor towns in England.

The cottages are in the Heart of England so you can easily explore the Welsh Borders, Chester, Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Sites and much more.

The cottages are non smoking and no pets except for guide dogs with notice given when booking.

Cottage One - sleeps 4

Downstairs - wide entrance hall, twin bedroom separate wheel-in-shower room with toilet (lever taps, and hand rails). Open plan kitchen/diner/sitting room with patio doors leading to sun room and back door to fenced patio overlooking garden and pond.

Upstairs - galleried landing leading to twin bedroom and en-suite bathroom.

Cottages Two & Three - sleeps 7

Downstairs - wide entrance hall, twin bedroom, single bedroom, wheel-in-shower room and toilet (lever taps, hand rails). Open plan kitchen/diner/sitting room with patio doors leading to sun room and back door to fenced patio overlooking garden and pond.

Upstairs - galleried landing leading to one twin bedroom, one double bedroom and a separate bathroom.

Each cottage has

Electricity and full central heating (no meters)
Gas cooker, microwave, toaster, fridge and freezer
Sky freeview, DVD and video players.
Bed linen (duvets).
Towels for hire at £2 per person or bring your own.
Mobile phone available on request.
Fenced patio area.
There is ample car parking to the front of the cottages, allowing easy access with no steps.

There is a separate communal laundry room with coin operated washing machine and tumble dryer.

Local Amenities

Village shop / post office - 1 mile in Clive
Two pubs within half-a-mile and both serve meals.
Other good pubs and restaurants within 2 - 4 miles.
Shrewsbury 6 miles (approx 15 mins drive to town centre) or use the Park & Ride Bus Service (suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs).
Shrewsbury Railway Station 6 miles and Yorton Station 1 mile.

Disabled / Special Needs

We have been catering for the less mobile and wheelchair users for over 10 years. The complimentary comments we receive are very positive and appreciative, with many guests returning year after year. Individual needs will be catered for wherever possible. Other specialised equipment can be hired by guests locally, and be in the cottage ready for your arrival.

Directions

Travelling north from the Shrewsbury area take the A528 to Ellesmere. Approx 5 miles, you come to Harmer Hill. Pass the Bridgwater Arms on the left, and take the right fork, the B5476 signposted to Wem. Newton Meadowws is 1/2 mile on the left. The cottage car park is to the front of the cottages on the right. Travelling South enter the town of Wem and follow the B5476 to Shrewsbury. Newton Meadows is situated on the right just as you enter Harmer Hill.
