Description
Upper Shadymoor farmhouse B&B, has the tranquility and 'pace of life you dream of', as well as delicious Aga cooked cusine.
A warm welcome awaits you at Upper Shadymoor Farm, from Kevan and Joy Fox and their family.
Location
Upper Shadymoor is located on the edge of Stapleton Parish, in the heart of the Shropshire countryside, yet only seven miles from the county town of Shrewsbury. The farmstead is nestled among woodlands and streams with outlooks from the house capturing woodland glades reminiscent of its' time as a mediaeval deer park.
Accommodation
The farmhouse, circa 1910, has recently undergone extensive renovation and now provides three en-suite rooms. A family and double room each two with balcony overlooking the developing garden, pools, stream and woodland. The third twin room, overlooking the farmstead courtyard. Each room offers TV plus tea and coffee making facilities.
Breakfast is either served in the rather huge farmhouse kitchen, with Aga, or in the dining room. The dining room provides a drawing room area too, where guests can relax. And in case you can't totally switch off we do offer broadband internet and TV facilities from the dining room too.
Evening meals are available by prior arrangement. They vary from light suppers to a three course dinner. To give you a flavour, seasonal choices include pheasant or venison with fresh blackberry or wild garlic sauces. Special diets catered for too.
Outlook
In 1284 Robert of Stapleton was granted a licence to impark "alsemore" likely to be the park occupying most of Shadymoor "Stapleton Great Park." 2004 marked the return of a small nucleus herd of fallow deer that have been reintroduced to the woodland glades. You are welcome to "deer watch."
Upper Shadymoor provides more than 200 acres of wonderful English countryside incorporating pastures, woodlands, streams and cart tracks to explore and enjoy. The farm includes a considerable menagerie of horses, sheep, chickens and dogs. Your well-behaved dogs and horses are therefore welcome by prior arrangement.
What other people say
"This place is tucked behind God's back;" "You can really see the stars;" "the quiet is deafening."
The pheasants parading across the lawn were as if they were on auto-cue.
Our walk through the deer park was idyllic - a different world.
