St Alkmund's Square
The town of Shrewsbury originally began life as a series of monastic sites around 700AD.
Shrewsbury began to develop into a town from this area with the building of a Royal Mercian Palace and the establishment of a Market Place 200 years later.
The existing church has saxon origins.
