Old St Chad's Church
This is one of Shrewsbury's oldest sites. It is believed to be the site of an Anglo Saxon Monastry and possibly even the location of the palace of the Kings of Powys.
St. Chads Church stood for 1000 years until 1788 when the tower collapsed destroying the main body of the church. Only a small fragment of the original church remains standing.
