Love From Shropshire
So much seems to be happening in Shrewsbury these days, it can be hard to keep up. Fortunately with our events list you can keep abreast of what's going on finding exactly the events or festivals etc you want.
2004 saw the first modern day Shrewsbury Summer Season. Today there are 365 events including visual arts, music, drama, spoken word and comedy which take place over 100 days of summer.
One of the highlights is the world famous Shrewsbury Flower Show, which has been running every August since 1887. Shrewsbury (town of flowers) is a pretty floral place most of the time, but the flower show is your chance to see more than 3 million blooms in one go - with lots of other entertainment besides.
Another big event is the Shrewsbury Folk Festival at the end of August. As Shrewsbury is also the birth place of Charles Darwin the town honours its most famous son and official 'Great Briton' by organising the annual Darwin Festival each year.
And don't miss the annual regatta. No fancy blazers required.
